Doug Dance was born in Trenton, Ontario Canada and now lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated with an Honors Bachelor of Science (HBSc) degree in Geology. Doug currently works as a Capacity Planner for IBM Canada.

Doug's childhood interest in nature and wildlife was rekindled when he first visited Yellowstone National Park in 1990. His growing fascination with the ways of the wilderness culminated in a yearlong adventure in the park often referred to as ‘Wonderland’.

"Once Around the Sun In Yellowstone" is Doug’s first book. His remarkable images and the accompanying stories are a reflection of his artistry with a camera as well as his passion for wild creatures and the wondrous lands where they live.
